Roads to New Relationships

"I think I have learned to be at ease with myself and have decided what I’m going to do with my future. I have developed an attitude of rolling with the punches, and that allows me to live life as it comes."
--12th Grade Trekker

Photo Treks 2009

Each week, students will be given a digital camera and will travel on the Trekkers bus to various waterfront sites with professional photographers to learn digital photography.  During a separate session, students will work on their photographs in the digital lab at Maine Media Workshops in Rockport. At the end of the seven-week session, students will work collaboratively with artists at Julia’s Gallery to put together a photography exhibit of their work.

Program

Trekkers is introducing a new program for 8th grade Trekkers, called Photo-Treks.  This first ever program will be offered to interested 8th grade Trekkers and will join forces with students from Julia’s Gallery at the Farnsworth Art Museum.  The purpose of the program will be to provide an opportunity for students to learn photography from local artists/photographers while investigating the unique character of this region’s working waterfront.
